At Cazar Pesántez Abogados, we firmly believe that the best legal defense is a strong preventive strategy. On March 16, 2026, we conducted a specialized training session for the leadership team and department heads of Unilimpio.
The main objective of this session was to equip company leaders with the necessary tools to prevent conflicts and ensure a timely response to situations that may affect internal management. Through this initiative, we aimed to strengthen their understanding of key issues essential for the company’s operational and reputational development.
During the session, our specialists addressed three critical pillars for corporate sustainability:
1. Anti-Corruption and Anti-Bribery Policies
Transparency lies at the core of sound business practices. In this module, we covered:
- Clear boundaries: Practical definitions of corruption and bribery within the private sector.
- Regulatory framework: Analysis of the Comprehensive Organic Criminal Code (COIP), internal regulations, and the importance of compliance policies.
- Risk management: Clear guidelines on accepting gifts and hospitality, and preventing improper payments.
- Culture of transparency: Implementation of effective reporting channels, whistleblower protection, and awareness of the serious legal and reputational consequences of non-compliance.
2. Confidentiality and Personal Data Protection
In the information age, protecting a company’s intangible assets is essential. Our team trained leaders on:
- The value of confidentiality: Concept and scope of confidentiality in both labor and corporate environments.
- Handling sensitive information: Proper classification and management of personal data, financial information, and trade secrets.
- Contractual safeguards: Review of clauses in employment contracts, addenda, and annexes, along with the legal consequences of non-compliance—supported by practical case analysis.
3. Prevention of Workplace Harassment and Discrimination
Ensuring safe, equitable, and violence-free workplaces is both a legal and ethical obligation. In this key segment, we addressed:
- Current legal framework: Context, scope, and purpose of Ecuador’s “Ley Violeta,” as well as the proper implementation of workplace harassment prevention and response protocols.
- Identification of conduct: Legal parameters defining workplace harassment and sexual harassment.
- Action and protection: Proper operation of internal reporting procedures, protection measures for both the company and employees, and corresponding disciplinary responsibilities.
- Ethical handling: Strict confidentiality throughout any harassment investigation process.
We congratulate Unilimpio for its proactive approach and commitment to leadership development. Training management teams in these areas not only mitigates legal risks but also fosters a stronger, more ethical, and productive organizational culture.
